I know I said last one 😁
but I cannot go in my backyard, and the weather is not exactly appealing for a walk.🚧🔊🫨✨ 🏚️🫨💥 🔊
I also had another thought anyway, so I figured I would go do this thing.
Therapy ..
I tell you, you have not lived until you have heard the hum of large construction equipment idling, accelerating, idling, and accelerating again, shaking your house while you breathe in the fumes, LOL, Monday through Friday, 7 AM-ish to 4:30 PM, since last summer.
It stops for a minute, so you try to go into your backyard for one breath of peace.
Then you stare at the monolith that was planted into your backyard view by the 925-to-1 vote-since-2022 community “NO IMPACT” “YES” crew.
That is the West Genesee Board of Education “Excellence.”
And just when you think maybe the day is winding down, the school PA fires up and starts pummeling your house and neighborhood until 9:30 PM, as you try to be pragmatic that “it’s seniors having fun.” Even thjough they could have the same fun with a minimum of 10% Voume reduction, I know crazy talk. "Community"
But to be fair, they do allow us some night sky. The lights always go off at 10 PM automatically. How very “Community Kindness” of them.
Then you wake up at 6:45 AM, get maybe 15 minutes of peace, and the cycle starts all over again.
Nothing was like this before David C. Bills, Christine C. DeMass, and his board really got rolling with their salaries. I mean, “Corporate, Crafted, Products.”
Still waiting on the fruit basket from the Wonderful West Genesee Board of Education !!!
“Dear Clark Lane Neighbors”
Great line, Christine. Great line.
Absolutely superb. 🫶
The fear of what these wonderful caring community volunteer write-in "leaders" have in store for us over here depresses the neighborhood. It makes you WANT bad weather. Can you imagine ?
Okay, vent over.
Well, for the moment anyway.
Anyway, back to it.
One thing I was confused about was what the May 19 ballot would actually look like.
I wanted to understand what I would see when I got there, because there were confusing things about the previous vote.
After seeing language that was not present on the first 2025 Capital Improvement ballot suddenly appear on the second 2026 attempt, specifically:
“State aid is not guaranteed.”
I wanted to understand what the ballot should look like.
After doing some research, I am fairly certian it will look something like this:
The school budget: $124,640,000, with an advertised 2.34% school tax levy increase.
Transportation proposition: up to $2,004,000 for buses and trucks, with tax/debt language attached.
Fairmount Community Library levy: $431,507, an increase of $16,596.
Maxwell Memorial Library levy: $430,109, an increase of $17,534.
Onondaga Free Library levy: $118,072, an increase of $3,439.
Board of Education election: three seats, three-year terms.
To train myself for this rigorous task, I have created what I think the ballot will look like.😉
I fully expect that when I post this, they might do their best to make it look different, if they can.
But I think this must be a fair representation of what the card should look like.
I will share the PDF of it if you want to practice yourself or send it to someone so they are prepared:
📄 Download Practice Ballot PDF👈
Anyway, I would like to think a practice ballot is not needed. However, the vote cards for previous votes, where there was only one option, seemed to look different vote to the fabled re-vote.
Even when there was only one option.
So it seems like this is a valid pursuit. I would seriously send the practice ballot to anyone who has questions.
Like I said, who knows if they will try to mix it up, but I would imagine they would have to stay close to these examples. 😂
Anyway until next time !!
Peace, Love and Knowledge
