A friend up the told me a story about calling the previous superintendent at West Genesee High School. His complaint back then? The band leader and his over-amped PA system blasting across the neighborhood like a summer concert.
Now, I’ve always tried to be tolerant — that’s what neighbors do — but let’s be honest, the guy definitely loves to push the volume knob.
Anyway, a week after that complaint, the old superintendent actually called my friend back and asked:
“How are we doing now?”
That, right there, is what leadership grounded in humanity looks like.
Someone who doesn’t act like he’s above the people who pay him.
Sure, the guy had his scandals, but in that particular moment? He gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, compared to David C. Bills = 0.
In my last email to Mr. Dr. Mr. David C. Bills, I was angry — and I had every reason to be.
I told him (and Kenny Boy Coon, as well as Mike Walker, both of whom work under that same “community-first” banner):
“Call me if you have the balls.”
Months of abuse, deception, and silence later… still no call.
So I guess we have our answer.
Because based on every exchange I’ve had with David Bills and the rest of the West Genesee leadership team, one thing’s become painfully clear:
they think they’re above it.
